Melissa Doyle volunteered her time, energy, and graphic design skills to the Colorado Conference on Volunteerism and Service-Learning in January and February of 2007. As the Program Committee Chair for this conference, I had the pleasure of working closely with Melissa and overseeing the design of an 8-page program she completed during her 40 hours of volunteer service. The program she designed was distributed to over 400 conference participants.
In all her work, Melissa showed initiative, paid great attention to detail, and demonstrated exceptional graphic design skills. She excelled in her work with minimal instruction and supervision. Melissa is one of the most dependable and hard working volunteers I have ever encountered.
Melissa was a great asset to the Colorado Conference on Volunteerism and Service-Learning, and I highly recommend her for any position that requires creativity, responsibility, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. If you’d like to discuss her attributes in more detail, please don’t hesitate to contact me. You may reach me at 719-955-0741, or by email at maggieb@ppunitedway.org.
“I originally met Melissa Doyle through an online Volunteer Matching Service when she responded to our needs for graphic design assistance. From the initial contact, Ms. Doyle was timely, professional and courteous, and was easily able to communicate her experience and talents as they would lend themselves to our needs.
We had a specific project in mind, and Ms. Doyle took in all of our requests, asked great questions for clarity, and helped us crystallize our ideas to develop the best possible game plan for the project. She made artistic suggestions when necessary and offered just the right combination of input, while keeping true to our original ideas.
We were thrilled with the final product, and Ms. Doyle actually did more than asked of her. As a public charity, we fortunately receive many in-kind services, as they are crucial to keep our administrative expenses low. Sometimes, people and companies genuinely want to help, but then feel the pressure of other (paying) clients, and our project goes to the bottom of the list. There was never a time in our working relationship with Ms. Doyle where she made us feel that we were getting less service because she was donating her time. In fact, she treated us like her most important customer!
I recommend her graphic design and customer service skills without reservation.”
